Professionals and skilled workers seeking permanent residence in Canada must establish a substantial chance of becoming economically settled. As a result, sufficient education, job experience in a high-demand occupation, and language proficiency in one of Canada’s official languages are the primary selection elements for all economic programmes.
IRCC uses the Express Entry system to manage Canada’s federal skilled worker immigration programmes. Applicants who meet essential criteria submit an online profile, known as an expression of interest, to the Express Entry pool under one of three federal Canada immigration programmes:
The federal skilled worker programme
Skilled federal trades
The Canadian experience class
A participating provincial nominee immigration programme
Under a Comprehensive Ranking System, the pool applicants’ profiles are compared to one another. Under regular draws, the highest-ranked individuals are considered for an invitation to apply for permanent residency. Candidates who receive an invitation to apply must submit a complete application as soon as possible. The government plans to resolve cases in as little as six months. Quebec is in charge of its immigration policies. The Quebec Experience Class and the Quebec Skilled Worker The Economic Class also offers a variety of business and investment-related programmes.
Some business immigration schemes include the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP), Quebec Entrepreneur Program, Quebec Self-Employed, Federal Immigrant Investor Venture Capital (IIVC) Program, and Federal Start-Up Visa Program provide permanent entrance to Canada.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Nominee Entrepreneur programmes have a two-step process for permanent residence: applicants are first chosen or nominated by a province if they meet programme requirements. Then, they can apply to Citizenship and Immigration Canada for permanent residence on that selection or nomination. Under government ‘owner-operator’ laws, wealthy business immigrants can buy or start a new business in Canada and qualify for a temporary work visa. After some time, qualified applicants may become eligible to apply for permanent residence under a provincial nominee class programme or the Express Entry system.
